My 5 year old grandson finds this calendar very fun, but gets each puzzle within a few minutes. Most of my books provide a picture that is on a much smaller scale from the tangram pieces so figuring it out is way more challenging. Anyway, I think I will have to give this to him as it will help his growing brain a lot more than it will prevent mine from atrophy. I love tangrams so I thought this calendar would provide me with a little challenge every morning. But no.the calendar provides an outline for you to fit each tangram piece in so it is very easy to see where the next tangrams go.
My students love challenging themselves when they come to class or as a fun alternative when they are done with their classwork, but keeps them using their brains. I'm a high school math teacher and have had this puzzle on my desk for the past three years.
It only made up of 7 pieces, but you will be surprised that some of these puzzles are much harder that it looks. Solid plastic is a better choice for durability and is also easier to clean. It is educational and pretty chalenging at the same time.
You will be tempted to try to solve several puzzles for sure. The pieces are smaller than regular Tangoes. Within the whole calendar year, you have lots of entertainment for many months to come. The puzzles itself can be made with a better material than foam.
This is a fun classic game. The answer is shown on the next calendar day. Other than that, for the price it is still a good deal.
The object of the game is to mimic the silhouette shape shown on the page by using each piece. It may even stump you.
It is just what we wanted--it makes us use our brains every morning. We love our Tangram day calendar.
